Portfast

I have seen some examples where portfast is configured on trunk ports.
For example if SW1 f0/1 is running an 802.1q trunk to R1, portfast is
configured on f0/1.
Is this correct? The warning message clearly states that portfast will not
work until the port is not a trunk.
