I agree with Bob. Span guard root is the way to go at the interface
level and is the simplest solution of them all, without touching the
switch that we are trying to prevent from becoming the Root switch.

Keep in mind though that if that switch had a lower priority, like zero
for instance, while the others had say 4096 and 8192, span guard root
would block it, from taking over, but it will not prevent it from
becoming Root. Once all switches block that port and they are in the
Root Inc Blocked State, that switch would technically be the root switch
in an isolated STP topology of its own.
