My view is that you need to incorporate your time strategy into your study.
The old saying "train like you fight" is what I like to use. The time to
implement and use a strategy is not on lab day.

Many folks will have lots of different methods and styles for doing this.
When I did the lab I used a simple method with notepad keeping track of the
sections and number of points.

Section Points Status
1.0 Layer 2
1.1 Creaate VLANS 3 Done
1.2 Create Trunks 2 Recheck
1.3 Create Etherchannel 2 Come back

Something a simple s this can get you started. Of course you make it fit
your style. The idea is the be able to keep a running total of points that
you know that you have at any given point in time.

Also - when you are doing practice labs look at how long certain sections
are taking you to do. for instance setting up Frame Relay. Of this
consistently takes you 10 minutes then you kind of know that if in the
actual lab you are at the 25 minute mark doing Frame Relay you might be
taking too much time.

You will get a lot of valuable feedback on this from many people.
ultimately, whatever method you choose has to work for you.
