I don't think so. You just need to have a copy of the pre-config just in
case; just to make sure you can recover from a rare worst case scenario.

I was thinking of this feature in case you have to revert back to a
config instead of constantly doing copy running conf1...copy running
flash:config2...etc and copy flash:config1 running
