Thanks for all the responses. I reached out to the group b/c I did not hear
from the vendor on prior issues. There wasn't any sense in going back to a
dry well. I had to resolve other issus by troubleshooting with other
candidates who had the same issues I was having. I work with a group of 6
candidates and we all run into similar problems with the software and were
NOT getting support from the Vendor. I had to ruffle a lot of feather to
get the latest information from them.

the "fix" to the freezing issue is to NOT have any folder open that
contain PDC files while actually using a PDC file AND when IE is open.

Locklizard (LL) will not give you access to a PDC unless it has internet
connectivity to validate the file you are trying to access to a server
somewhere. So the real solution is to keep folders with PDC files closed.

I'v tried it and it actually works. I can't explain it, but that will keep
LL from freezing.

Below is another tid bit I got from another forum:

Just to note a spike in Java based 0-day server socket script malware is
going on that impacts Java, IE, all Java browsers, Adobe PDF files and this
may impact the LL.

The anti malware software does not catch or prevent it unless the OS is
really locked down and Java, Active X, and Adobe good scripts wont work
correctly in that setting

.I am starting to think all PC/Laptops need OS hypervisors on them so they
run OS in Windows sessions that can be wiped and restored fast because the
anti-malware and OS firewalls don't catch or correct them until it's too
late. I have several Exchange Servers impacted and open cases spinning
around.

This malware can arrive in a jpg image and takes over search plugin's, opens
50 end point mappers so look for that on the client
