Hello Faizan,

Definitely will work. Another option would be to run HSRP on the 2 routers
with a single Logical IP, and do tracking on the routers if the route to the
internet fails, this will lead to the other router winning the election.

As for the ip sla solution with tracking definitely it is a workable
solution. Please check the following link as it is almost your scenario:
