c3750 sw backup

configuration:
int g1/0/3
     sw ba int g1/0/4

message:
*Mar 11 04:28:56.903: %SPANTREE-6-PORTDEL_ALL_VLANS:
GigabitEthernet1/0/3 deleted from all Vlans
*Mar 11 04:28:56.912: %SPANTREE-6-PORTDEL_ALL_VLANS:
GigabitEthernet1/0/4 deleted from all Vlans

sh ip int br
(both g1/0/3 and g1/0/4 are up up)

sh vlan
(both ports belong to their VLANs)
(does not matter whether they were on the same vlan or not)

question:
(1) isn't g1/0/4 supposed to be down as soon as the configuration is done?
(2) what does the error message tell us if the vlan of both ports does
not change?
