L2 Links

Dear Experts,

I would just like to ask a simple question and forgive me if it has been
asked and answered before. When I do a lab from any vendor I see there are
l2 links mentioned like f0/19 going to sw f0/13 and f0/20 going to sw4 etc
(Layer 2 Diagram). When I start the lab I see that there are already some
trunk links on the switches but on the workbook it says that create certain
trunks using certain ports. The question is what to do with the links which
are already trunking? If we get the same situation in the lab can we disable
those links or we should ask uncle proctor? I know its a simple question
but I was just curious to know.
