EIGRP stub and OSPF "max-metric router-lsa"

Hello group,

I have question about two commands:
In EIGRP: eigrp stub and
In OSPF: "max-metric router-lsa" under router ospf.

Is it OK to say that both commands are used to achieve the same goal. The
result is that the router will not be used as a transit router as long as
other routes are available. I understand that there are functional
differences (link state vs distance-vector) but the *end result* is the same
?
