Hi all,

CMIIW and please add the historical timeline on the dot1q and ISL in Cisco
routers.
I recall seeing it implemented in 12.2, but I could be wrong.

Salam Faisal,

Througout my short encounter with Cisco's 'battle' between dot1q and ISL,
put it this way.
Since customer has driven the VLAN encapsulation more on the dot1q
implementation, that is the reason Cisco take out the ISL support from
router.

Several old IOS-es support it in the past, like the 12.2 and early dates
12.3.
