Hi Dale,

Probably the most important reason that many large enterprise networks
consider the HP software is that it's like an umbrella covering a huge
range of applications/services. From Microsoft Exchange to SAP, Citrix,
VMWare, Oracle, Blackberry or IBM DB2 they're all supported using HP
smart plug ins. Lots of performance agents and Storage
management/monitoring tools make it easy to manage an enterprise network
(usually!).

AFAIK they do offer various licensing options.

My recommendation? Call your local HP office (or your AM) and ask for a
Presentation; they're usually more than happy to come by and present
what they have to offer. You can also seek some help in tailoring the
best possible package for your network.

Training? The software is not very easy to navigate and manage but they
do offer some training and the good news is you usually don't have to do
lots of config stuff after installation.

Could you please elaborate?

Based on your own first hand experience with OpenView, what do you
consider are its best, 'nicest' features?

Genuinely curious,
Dale
