Re: Planning a bootcamp

Well... Ok... Let's be more specific...

The only way you can sit for a CCIE lab again is:

1. Take a new track
2. Let your CCIE expire for god knows what reason, and retake the lab
exam again...

Being that #2 implies a three year process of doing absolutely nothing, I
would highly advise against it.

But technically, you are correct, you COULD sit the same track a second
time.

Even though we technically "qualify" by passing the written exam again
for recertification, the system will not (at least never used to) let you
take the lab exam again for something which you are already certified in.

  Good Evening Gentlemen,
As a former CCIE that is currently in process of recertification.

First off I would like to correct Mr. Anthony Sequeira.
  As stated in earlier thread.
"Once we pass the lab exam for a track, we are not permitted to take the
  lab exam again"

According to Cisco recertification documenation: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccie/recert/index.html Recertification Details
To maintain active status, every 24 months CCIEs are required to pass
one of the following: any CCIE written exam of their choosing, a CCIE
lab exam, or either of the CCDE exams.

It appears that a CCIE can recertify by passing the lab again.

Im not implying or trying to say that you should go by weather there
is a current CCIE with a training vendor, I agree with the other folks
in saying that there are many great instructors as I have been a
student of many on this list. I will be more active as I will have to
retake the written and the lab exam again.

  Sincerely,
  John Matijevic

As usual, I agree 100% with what Scott is saying. No vendor or person
is going to hand you a CCIE. We can all help provide you with
materials and great training that will allow you to acquire the skills
    necessary to earn one.

Passing the lab today versus last year versus 10 years ago has nothing
to do with whether they know what they are doing.

And that's the point in that it shouldn't be part of the criteria!

Marko is a great guy, and very bright... NO doubt about that. but he's
not going to teach you the "exam", he's going to teach you the
technologies and how to work through them so that YOU can pass the lab.

It's the same thing that I would do. It's the same thing Anthony would
do. It's the same thing Narbik would do.

Experience, as you noted, is a good thing to look at! And, this is
Marko's second CCIE anyway. But I think he was smart before he got his
      first one! ;)

       I understand what you're saying Anthony. I respect experience, that's why I
mentioned Mr. Morris. But I am confused. Do you mean that someone that has
just passed doesn't know what they are doing? I just want the most current
training that will be relevant to me. I'm sure the intentions either way
are best. Also, can someone tell me when Scott Morris will be teaching the
       next routing and switching bootcamp.

       Danke,

         Hi Charles!

Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions regarding the
INE materials or more specifically, the bootcamp.

I think that basing this very important decision on which organization has
instructors that are so new to the Routing and Switching track that they
have passed since October 19th, 2009 is not the correct approach.

I am planning on a bootcamp in Germany Area. I am looking at IPexpert

         and

INE. I can travel abroad if needed. My question is, what bootcamp

         should I

take? I have heard that IPexpert is the only company that has instructor
which has passed the new version of CCIE lab but I like Scott Morris and

         I

think he owns INE or something. Any recommendations?

           Many Thanks,
