The OEQ thing was not a "major" change.

But adding more topics certainly IS a major change; so the 6-month policy would apply. The Cisco CCIE team does not have a magic bucket of topics/questions to pull something out overnight and say "here is a couple of new topics"; I'd say they certainly spent at least a couple of years on the new version of exam which was announced last October.

Well, for the record, OEQs were announced with only 30-day notice.
Then again, it was not a change in blueprint - which is the thing that
requires 6 months notice.

As a student, I wouldn't be worried of any upcoming changes. We'll
help get you the material - couple of more topics... how hard can it
be? [ducking for cover]
