Abiola,

If this is your question, you can certainly adjust your SPF calculations
to meet your requirements during an instability period. For instance you
can delay the kick off time of your SPF when "something" happens.

This feature is called "SPF Throttling" and since IOS 12.2(15)T was a
part of non-S IOS series.

Here is the command : timers throttle spf.....

I would not recommend that you mess with your SPF settings unless you
get Cisco TAC involved.
