Oh I know the story well yet it still manages to amuse me everytime I am reminded of it.
And now I retire to my ribs, wings and beer for the evening : )

Joe,
When I was a BGP newbie this guy broke "the" Internet; considering the
size of the disaster I'd say he was driving a Veyron 2010 :)

Apologies I think I misread your question (email + driving hehe). Of
course you can set both but realize that weight takes precedence over
local pref

I don't see why you CAN'T unless told otherwise but I would not do it
either. Do what you are told : ) If you really wanted to anyways I would
clarify with the proctor. Also realize that weight is a local attribute
that will not be passed on...

Hell,
In the lab if you are given a task to influence route selection based on
weight and local pref.
Can you use both weight and local pref attributes to influence route
selection or use either?
Comments will be deeply appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
