For the 3560 switch, our star of the CCIE R&S Exam, if you enable BPDU Guard in global configuration mode, it only effects PortFast ports on the device.

If you enable BPDU Guard at the interface level, it can be enabled for any port regardless of PortFast settings.

PortFast is not REQUIRED in traditional STP topologies, just recommended for ports connecting to devices that power cycle like host systems. The PortFast command does indeed carry forward to RSTP/MSTP networks and is critical for the identification of EDGE PORTS in the RSTP topology.
