OSPF virtual-link problem !

Hi Group,

I would like to configure an ospf virtual link over a area 1.
The topology looks like the following

                           SW------
                          / \
R1--area1---R2-area 1---R3-SW----R4---R5--area0-SW1

I would configure from area 1 to SW1 configure a virtual link because on R1 are an additional non-area0 !

THis link doesn't come up.
The loopbacks between R1 and SW1 are reachable....

Is there any resrictions regarding virtual links over more than one hops ?
