RE: REG EXPRESSION

No. The _ is a space for the most part, it will not match any alphanumeric
characters. This reg exp will match only AS Path's beginning with 820 and
ending with 12, and containing any other AS in the middle, at least one AS
in the middle as well since there are 2 spaces.
