the first line is supposed to disable that and has worked for me in the past,
try shutting down your vm and unregister and re-register it and power it back
on. ill try and test it on monday to see if it still works at least on esx
3.5/4.0
to quickly register/un-register
/usr/bin/vmware-cmd -s unregister
<config_file_path>
/usr/bin/vmware-cmd -s register <config_file_path>

Subject: VMWARE MAC ADDRESS CHANGE
Hello Group,
So I was hoping someone on here could help me. I am trying to
bring up some
new VMWare images for my CCIE Voice and I need to change the MAC
Addresses on
them. Prior it used to let you change everything but now I see
its limited to
00:50:56 is there a way to force change it all the way?
Thanks,
James
