To be 100% honest, because I am setting up a home lab for my CCIE VOice and
using a license from work so that I can setup a Sub.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want/need to set a completely
arbitrary MAC address for the VM? Why is using VMware's OUI prefix not
cutting it for you?
