First off, this is just my opinion. I usually stay out of these flame wars on this list because its this kind of stuff that makes me feel like this list is a useless waste of time for anyone who really wants to study for the lab. I will however interject my thoughts for a moment.
First off, contrary to Narbiks message, there are OTHER options-
1- the option is to study without a vendor and take OEQs
2- study with a non-360 vendor and take OEQs,
3- use 360 and get a waiver for 4 questions.
Take into consideration the cost of 360 versus the cost of non-360 vendor material as well as the quality of the material and this is an easy decision to make for most people. And if you "went with the flow" Narbik, you would have been teaching certified Cisco Training at the lower levels and not CCIE training for as long as you have been. I think that "not going with the flow" has been a good decision for you and you have built a very respected name for yourself in the CCIE space because of it.
As far as comparing this to flying planes, operating a train, captaining a ship, or whatever analogy you may want to come up with the bottom line is that there is CLEARLY a difference in the CCIE exam for those that will use the waiver and those that can't. It's design is to stimulate sales in a program that is otherwise failing. Will it work? Maybe a little, but who cares. Some students will choose 360, and some will not.
All-in-all, to me this announcement shows me the desperate state of the 360 program.
For those of you that are actually trying to study for the test...Keep up the hard work and whether you have to answer 4 questions or not your time and effort will be worth it when you pass.
