Hey everyone.
Just wanted to let you know that if you ever wanted to calculate queue and
threshold depth of Catalyst 2960/3560/3750, now there is an easier way.
By reverse engineering memory blocks a bit, I was able to figure out the
memory structure and what those frustrating percentages mean.
With this calculator you can enter byte values for the queues and it will
generate all the needed commands, check sanity and calculate some
interesting ratios and statistics. You can also check "how many" packets of
certain size will fit there, due to memory structure overhead (256-Byte
cells).
Anyway, check it out, and hopefully it'll enhance your understanding of
Catalyst QoS in the Sasquatch family.
P.S.: All Sasquatch family members have same architectural approach, so it
procedure is the same on 2960 and 3750G alike. 3..0E, 2960S and 3..0X models
types have a bit different method of calculation.
