Both policing and storm-control is going to be on ingress traffic. You
cannot control the egress. If you want to control egress traffic to the
port you need to control it both at the layer 3 interface to the port and
all other ports on the subnet to it via ingress control. unfortunately
there is no perfect answer.

Subject: Rate-limit or Police or Strom-Control??

Dear all,
I hope you are doing well.
I have cisco 2950 switch and want to limit bandwidth on port no.10
which is f0/10
1)switch port does not support rate-limit command
2)I used police command but it can apply only input of interface,no
option available for output on interfaces.
what is best way to limit 2 mb bandwidth on interface f0/10?can I use
strom-control command to limit it?
Thanks in advance
