Hi Faisal,
It depends, i used a dynamips setup and real switches with a breakout switch
to get started. Some labs cant be done with the breakout switch, especially
labs which involved dot1q on the router interfaces. (on the background this
would be a double dot1q tag), also QoS cant be tested on dynamips in a fair
way, but no issues with configuring it.. if i would need to rebuild this lab
i would pick either quadcards or usb nics. I found dynamips to be a bit
unstable when bridging was involved in a lab, but that was probably due to
the IOS image/type of router (3725).
I used rackrentals for timed sessions later on, which was also a great
experience. Later i actually preferred rackrentals instead of dynamips, but
as said it's great to get started! :)
