RE: Does CCDE written recertify your CCIE?

My last written was in August 11, 2008, which is more than 18 months ago. My
current written is from yesterday. And despite it is reflected in the CCIE
database as passed, it didn't shift my recertification further. I still will
have to recertify before July of 2011, just like this written exam didn't
happen at all.

No value lost, it's for another track, but I expected it to extend the
status of the certification further.

You can be recertified for just under 4 years total. No need for a suspended
state. Plenty of people at work recertifying before the 2 year window roles
up. My boss just recertified taking the R&S exam, just like he did 18 months
ago. Which reminds me I need to recertify by November, it's been almost 4
years. R&S and then CCDE Beta, put me out almost 4 years.
