OSPF graceful shut

Dears,

For taking a core router offline, wouldnt it be ideal to do a passive
withdrawal of our router by giving passive-interface on the ospf enabled
interfaces so that neighbor will tear down after their holddown time
expires.. or is there any issue for neighbor router if i shut down the core
suddenly?

Also,
I read for faster ospf convergence it is better to use interface ip instead
of a SVI. But if we use svi interface, wouldnt it be good for the router to
graceful tear down the adjacency rather than an abrupt change if dierct
interface ip is used?

Warm Regards
Thameem
