Hey you, Happy Monday.

You can start with the data sheet for packets/sec. Example:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps5023/data_sheet_c78-531031.html

I am not sure about the serialization delays ... but on the LAN it should
not be much of a consideration IMO ...

AFAIK - Serialization delays are really only a concern on low speed
interfaces. Perhaps there is some data center protocols that I am not aware
of ... but then again, on a LAN I doubt this would be an issue when
everything is being performed in good hardware with ASICS. Key word being
'good hardware'.

So without serialization delays being a concern ... should you be concerned
with buffering and queuing delays across the LAN? The answer is yes. You
need to look over the missing critical and time sensitive traffic and then
consider how this runs / is running across the LAN. Have you gaurenteed
that this mission critical and time sensitive traffic will be delivered and
delivered within the time required?

Additional point for concern - are those configs and processes that require
the CPU for processing ... example some security and monitoring configs.
Check your configs and look them over ... if you have any doubts, then check
the config guide or maybe even call Cisco TAC to get another set of eyes on
your install.
