label for default route won't help because the entire LSP path must be for _a specific and the same_ route, in this
case PE2's loopback. You can't have an LSP path where routes change along the path, 0/0 from PE1 to P, and
PE2/32 from P to PE2. The path must be PE2/32 from PE1 to P and PE2/32 from P to PE2.

Having said that, PE2's loopback must be in PE1's routing table. What's wrong with L2 to L1 redistribution?
