That's the published policy. New technologies can be added to the lab
6 months after they are introduced to the IOS. However, Cisco has
published that IOS in the lab is 12.4T. If they want to change that to
15, they'll need to announce the blueprint change 6 months in advance.

While I'm most definitely not very happy about this change for so many
reasons (some of which are Dynamips related, others are so nicely
summarized by Greg Ferro on his blog - etherealmind.com) I'm not
worried. Other than the fact that I work for IPexpert and our
ProctorLabs will be made exam-ready when the change is announced,
12.4T IOS has at least 95% of the things IOS 15 has. The differences
are really minor. Yes, sure, there are new things in 15, but not
something I would break my head over.

In theory, you could go about preparing for CCIE R&S with 12.2 IOS for
about 90% of the subjects from the blueprint, if not more.

I am more concerned about the SP and SPO tracks :-).
