Remote hosts will receive traffic from both sources, unless you
implement SSM in your network and clients join specific sources.
Regarding your 2nd question - this is more of an application-level
thing than the network. In theory, HOST2 could monitor the traffic on
the local segment and start transmitting only if there is no traffic
from HOST1. Good luck ;-)
