If you shutdown CM and your gateway is MGCP, the call will go down as soon as SRST takes over. If the gateway is H323, it will stay up for about 2 mins 30 seconds. Not sure how scientific that is, but it's based on a lot of tests with a 2821 gateway running 12.4(15)T7 with a 6.1.2 CM box. This assumes that you're not running a cluster or communications between the gateway and CM have been severed.
