Hi Scott,

Well, even though your bsurveillance partb sounds pretty solid, you
forgot how to mitigate the attach. So my idea with coupling the video
surveillance with the teaser or the electric fence might be an idea.

B

You ask who you should protect against. Hey man, just think back to
rfc1149 (check out the pics on http://www.blug.linux.no/rfc1149/) , if
once a day someone starts such an DoS attack to your house/routers you
will think back what I said :o)))))))))))))))))))))))

heheheh...B B No, I hadn't thought about that.B But all the toys are
in
a room by themselves.B And it's locked, key card access and has video
surveillance...B B It's enough to deter most.B

That, and in my house, exactly who am I protecting against anyway?B :)

Ha, ha, high voltage signs...that's very great! You could also put an

electrical fence around or combine the IP camera with an electro shocker
or

a teaser...if anyone comes closer than 1 meter....bzzzzzz....hehehe...

B

I'm sure Scott has something like that on his huge home rack

(http://smorris.uber-geek.net/lab.htm) , do you Scott? Hehehe...

If you are going to spend all this money on the hardware, then why not
buy a

24U cabinet that you can lock?B B It is a reasonably small investment
for the

money you are going to spend, and if you are worried about physical
security

keep it locked and get an IP camera and point at it(Make the camera VERY

visible).B High Voltage signs might come in handy also, not many people
are

brave enough to touch something strange what has high voltage signs on
it.

B

just my $.02
