RE: OT: VSS 6513 or 6509-E

Hello,

All the slots in 6513 chassis do not have dual fabric connection and
since vss only supports 67xx line cards which need dual fabric
connection you would not be able to use certain slots in 6513 chassis.
On the other hand 6509 has all dual fabric connected slots so all of
them are functional.

Usually you want to have one VSL on the SUP (SUP to SUP) and the other
VSL(s)
on another card that is 10G VSL capable. 6513 really just buys you extra
slots
at the price of some slots not having the dual channels. This question
really
needs more such as the design you are trying to accomplish. I
personally only
have used VSS on 6509Es and 6506Es. Usually, if you have the $$$, you'd
have
two VSS cores.
