I guess this may vary from country to country...
I would call insurance company and ask if this type of equipment is covered
by regular theft, fire, water damage etc insurance.

Since I am going to have all this equipment in my apartment I was thinking I
should get renter's insurance because the maintenance people are in my place
all the time and they would see it and might steal it when I am gone. What
renter's insurance should I get for it ?
