I had the chance to meet the author of this draft a couple of week ago.
Asked him why it is that almost nobody uses /31 on point-to-point links
despite the RFC (3021) is out there since december 2000 (he is also the
co-author for this one)...it happens that vendors took forever to
accept/include it in their codes, so I think same thing will apply to class
E and we might never use it if we are really moving to IPv6.
