Some learned the technologies and passed. However some just did enough labs
and knew enough scenarios to brute force the lab on a lucky draw or a few
attempts.

With the changes I think the ability to scenario pass has been reduced.
For example, I can buy all the vendors workbooks I want and do them all, and
while I will learn some while going, I may not learn enough if I just focus
on configuring a certain aspect in each scenario based on keywords.
Adversely I could buy 1 vendors workbook, and really use it as a catalyst to
understand the topics and technologies by diving in depth and looking at how
everything actually works when studying.

I think that is a good thing for everyone. (except those who spent the money
before adjusting strategy and taking appropriate time to learn
properly) Just my opinion.
