Hey i know this is quite a sensitive topic but to be honest i don't think
you can put candidates into nice little boxes based on the version of exams
they sat or the dates at which they got their numbers. From my own
experience i sat for version 3 once (no OEQ) and failed, wrote version 3
with OEQ three more times before passing, in all my attempts i passed the
OEQ sections and failed the main lab. Total lab attempts 4. In every lab i
knew exactly where i went wrong (it is so easy to spot those rabbit holes)
My take is everyone knows why they fail and if they have the determination
to work hard on their weak areas and can afford to go in again they will
eventually pass it. I remember after i failed my first attempt i was at
networkers in Barcelona last year and spoke to Steve Barnes (ccie
development team) and he told me that the lab was designed to be completed
in 6hrs and i was like no way I'll be able to do that, not possible with
what i had seen but guess what by my 4th attempt i finished the main lab in
6.5 hrs and was able to use over an hour to verify and correct mistakes. To
Stefan and all the V4 takers, it is just an exam, yes maybe a lot more
different which sometimes can translate into difficulty but i know that it
is passable. You guys just keep at it and all the best in your future
preparations......
