I read some good reviews about his class and I really liked the concept as well. Is he still doing all of the camps out of Germany? I don't know anyone personally who has been to one of the classes, but you might want to unicast Darby Weaver, I think he has been to one and should be able to provide you with detailed comparison between different vendors.

was looking at taking a class spring 2010 before making an attempt at the
lab.
has any one ever attended one of his classes? the other vendors offer a
lab/lecture type class, but i really don't want any lecture. i can read and
watch videos on my own time to learn the technologies.

leaving home for 3 weeks with no distractions and just configuring everyday
with someone there to give guidance is really appealing to me. seems like a
good way to finish up studying before an attempt. i haven't been able to
find any reviews out there so i figured id try here.
