If that is the case then why waste your time on the CCIE?

This is not meant to offend or be rude in any fashion or manor, just a
personal opinion. I remember someone made a comment awhile back that the CCIE
is turning into the MCSE (How it was and what it became) and another person
responded saying no it wasnt. I have to respectfully disagree with the person
who said it wasnt. I feel it is day by day. I believe that in a few years the
CCIE will be exactly the same as an MCSE and Cisco certs will loose their
stature. I base this off of what Cisco has recently done and what Microsoft
tried to do to save their program. They came out with the "Masters" Program
and then once you passed this you could go for the "Architect" Program. Now
with Cisco doing this CCA, I truly and saddened to say I really feel Cisco
will be right behind Microsoft soon. This is simply my observation.

WIthin 3 years all Cisco exams will be sub-contracted out to Vue, the format
won't be the same just it will have Cisco vetted Vue henchmen as proctors.
This will simply menm that you will be able to sit the lab in more
locations, so yes it will be in a country near you :)

Watch this speace....
