its very basic question...On broadcast and NBMA (non broad cast multiple
access) networks DR and BDR are required for proper operation of OSPF on
these kind of networks. if a router is neither a DR nor a BDR then that
router will be DROther. A network type where DR / BDR election is held all
router make adjacencies with DR/BDR and send their updates to DR instead of
all of their peer routers. Then its DR duty to send those updates to all of
the remaining routers on that segment. DR/BDr election is held per segment
basis.....
