Marko is correct. When you switch from Server or Client to Transparent
the version will always revert to 0. He is also correct by
illustrating that creating a vlan will always increment the revision
counter by 1 per each change. Changing vtp modes between client and
server or the reverse will not change the revision number and this is
the context I was referring to. I think all of this is well understood
by most of us most of the time. Now the one situation which I find
interesting is when a switch in VTP client mode has a higher revision
number than a switch that is a VTP server. In this case the vtp client
will override the vtp server. Strange but true.
