Agreed with what others mention ...

Quite a few L2 features missing or only partially enabled on this switch.

3550 is a cheaper solution as Joe mentions ... but then you are again
missing some features and a slightly diff QoS and command line.

If you have the switch, hard code the IP, default gateway and then you can
use it for some L2 configs and also as a host. Connect it to a 3560 and
practice all kinds of stuff with the 2950 as a host behind your 3560.
