I stumbled upon this issue a few months back. The limitation is in
hardware - you may be able to configure it and get it to work but cisco
will not support it and won't guarantee that the code will remain in
future releases.
I also did some testing and was seeing CPU > 40% with just ping traffic,
I think the main concern would be around STP not getting enough CPU
resource causing network instability.
