Hi All,

Just wondering the functional difference between STP blocking state and
STP Listening state. The way in which I understand the functions performed in
each state is as below (from the 3560 doc cd)

An interface in the blocking state performs these functions:
Discards frames received on the interface
Discards frames switched from another interface for forwarding
Does not learn addresses
Receives BPDUs

An interface in the listening state performs these functions:
Discards frames received on the interface
Discards frames switched from another interface for forwarding
Does not learn addresses
Receives BPDUs

Is there a functional difference between these 2 states other than its a
nect step for STP convergence process.

Thanks for the help
