flow-control (Hardware and Software)

Hi All,

  I am understanding that,flow control could be done in hardware or software
,please correct me if I am wrong on that,Question is ,Whats the default
flow-control mode when we enable flowcontrol by using these
commands "flowcontrol send on/flowcontrol receive on" without mentioning
specifically as hardware/software and how we could verify the same.
