Hi All,

I was going though the cisco document heading "Understanding and
Configuring the Cisco UplinkFast Feature" and while reading understood that
the least recovery time for the uplink failure between access to core
switches on alternate/backup uplink without uplinkfast is 14 seconds and the
reason I undertood is,because the minimum value allowed for the
forward_delay timer is 7 seconds.

When I looked through the switch it gave me options for the forward-delay
timer to be tuned between 4-30.I created a dummy vlan on that switch and
configured the forward-delay timer for the vlan as 4 seconds and it took the
same.Is this mean that a forwrad-delay of less as 4 seconds can be tuned on
the switch or just switch took it but will not support it?

Kindly provide your comments.

Thank you very much
