I agree with Luis and I would recommend understanding mpls vpns specifically
setting up IP VRFs RDs, RTs, LDP, and how each protocol is setup to use
VRFs. MPLS fundamentals is a great book to read.
Layer 3 VPNs for MPLS are not too difficult. RDs are what make the routes
unique. Route Targets are used for importing and exporting routes to and
from a VRF, Label Distribution protocol is used to label switch traffic
within an IGP, and Virtual Route Forwarding is used to provide alternate or
seperate routing table specific to the global routing table. Think of it as
ships in the night. Also now VRF lite. One main difference between MPLS L3
VPNS and VRF Lite is MPLS L3 VPNs use LDP and where VRF Lite does not.
