I second Mohamed here. If you haven't given the troubleshooting blog from Mr. Morris a read, you definitely should.
Irfan,
In both my lab prep and actual lab day, I did everything you mentioned. I do not remember needing to remap the copy and paste keys, but I'm used to putty and native Linux where the right mouse button pastes.
One of my aliases that I spammed constantly through the lab and also used to build my tcl script was sibe 's ip int b | e una'.
If you read Scott's blog, there is a pretty good example for getting most of your troubleshooting show run's into a single command. Something along the lines of 's run | i kron|event|no\ |boot|interface|ip add' followed by a 's ver | i register'
If anyone is interested, this is the alias script I typically used.
alias configure ro router os 1
alias configure re router ei
alias configure rb router bgp
alias configure rr router rip
alias configure ins int s0/3/0
alias exec c conf t
alias exec sr show run
alias exec srr show run | b router
alias exec sir show ip ro
alias exec sibs show ip b s | b Nei
alias exec sibe show ip int b | e una
alias exec sion show ip os nei
