My personal recommendation is to answer enough to where you have explained
the technology and have communicated that you know what you are talking
about. In this case, I would probably right a short sentence or two about
the TTL not just what the acronym stands for. Could you write just what the
acronym stands for and still get credit? I don't know, so I'd be safe and
communicate that not only do I know what it stands for, but I know what it
actually does.
