I am glad that you opened up to the group.
I'm near 40. I know it can be discourgaging sometimes.
I feel it too sometimes. Spending all my money, putting myself in a lot of
debt and not spending time with my family. Sometimes I think to myself is
this really worth it. Am I doing the right thing by my family. My wife and I
have discussed this and we both know the short sacrifice in time now ( 1+
yrs so far) is worth the end result.
I believe without a doubt that this will make me a better engineer(it
already has) and the title will open doors to more money for my family. I
want the title to prove I can do what so little others can. To be able to
distingish myself from all the people competing against me. There are only
some 20k + CCIE's for a reason.
You stepped into the CCIE arena. Most people will not even bother. But you
did. You made a commitment to yourself. You know it's going to be hard work,
a challenge. "Do what you said you were going to do, when you said you were
going to do it, how you said you were going to do it."
Now go enjoy doing what ever your favorite thing is to do and then get back
to the books.
We are a small community but we have big hearts. We are here to help you and
support you.
